Our study is designed to determine how factors that can trigger immune and inflammatory reactions, such as infections and vaccines, interact with a person’s pre-existing health conditions to influence future health status over time. The knowledge gained from our research will help to direct public health efforts aimed at reducing population-level risks from pre-existing conditions, infections, and associated adverse outcomes.

The current study phase is enrolling patients recovering from COVID-19 or other infections, patients with and without chronic disease conditions, and healthcare workers who may have different levels of exposure to infections depending on job function.
